Bologna Fiere once again proves to be the only place in Europe where passion, culture, and market come together—an event that brings everyone together: the public, collectors, exhibitors, and media.

The 42nd edition of Auto e Moto d’Epoca comes to a close today, confirming Bologna as the European capital of historic motoring. Four days of excitement—combining collecting, culture, and commerce—brought together a large and passionate audience and delivered excellent results for exhibitors and traders, despite a challenging international economic climate.

With over 235,000 square meters of exhibition space, 14 halls, and 4 thematic routes, the show welcomed a vast and enthusiastic crowd, strengthening its role as a global reference point for the sector. Within the halls of BolognaFiere, collectors, museums, car manufacturers, and historic clubs met to create a vibrant edition rich in content, stories, and encounters.
“Auto e Moto d’Epoca is not just a fair, but a cultural and human experience,” says Mario Carlo Baccaglini, President of Intermeeting. “In a time of economic uncertainty, the public’s enthusiasm and the energy of the market show that the passion for Classics is more alive than ever. We saw great interest from younger visitors, a sign that historic motoring continues to renew itself and look to the future.”
Positive signals also came from the market: numerous “sold” signs appeared on windshields, reflecting a cautious but solid recovery. Industry professionals reported a more selective yet determined audience, with a growing presence of buyers aged 30 to 50, looking for the cars they dreamed of as children.
“Collecting is changing,” says Daniele Ferrua, CEO of Autoluce, a historic company from Modena. “Today, uniqueness and quality matter more than the vehicle’s age. Cars are bought like works of art to be cherished, and an event like Auto e Moto d’Epoca is the ideal place for that spark between car and enthusiast to ignite.”

Not only cars: the motorcycle sector also performed excellently. Exhibitors expressed satisfaction with both sales and audience quality, noting steady interest in great Italian classics and sporty models from the 1970s–1990s—a clear sign that the vintage motorcycle market continues to grow and evolve.
Among the most exciting highlights were the special exhibition celebrating 75 years of Formula 1, featuring 30 original single-seaters never before displayed together, and Honda’s exclusive showcase, which blended history and innovation in an emotional journey through technology, style, and design.
“Auto e Moto d’Epoca confirms itself as a benchmark for the industry and an extraordinary opportunity for companies to tell their story,” says William Armuzzi, General Manager of Honda Motor Europe Italia. “With our ‘Honda Classic’ stand, we presented 39 motorcycles spanning over 75 years of history—from production models to racing legends. There was great enthusiasm for the presence of Jim Redman, six-time world champion in the 250cc and 350cc classes, warmly welcomed by fans who remember him as a true legend of motorcycling.”
International specialized media also recognized Auto e Moto d’Epoca’s leading position, calling it “the most beautiful and complete classic motoring show in Europe.” This recognition rewards the event’s organization, the clarity of its offering, and the diversity of its market—ranging from pre-war vehicles to the most contemporary youngtimers. In Bologna, the public always knows what to expect: quality, authenticity, and a complete experience, where every enthusiast can find their dream—from a €500 model to a €2 million collector’s masterpiece.
“Auto e Moto d’Epoca is part of Bologna’s identity and of the Motor Valley,”
says Antonio Bruzzone, CEO of BolognaFiere. “It’s an event that grows and renews itself every year, combining industry and culture, tradition and innovation. Our city confirms itself as the ideal home for Europe’s largest event dedicated to historic motoring.”
